STONINGTON – Brenda Elaine Quiterio of Stonington died Sept. 30, 2003, at a Bangor hospital after a long battle with complications from an operation. She was born in Torrington, Conn., Aug. 4, 1941, the daughter of Lawson G. and Dorothy M. (Hutchinson) Bridges. She is survived by her son, Keith A. Trundy and his wife, Kelly, and their three children, Jacob L., Lucas E. and Emmi-Jo; her daughter, Cari Quiterio and Cari’s daughter, Brenna K., all of Deer Isle; her mother, Dorothy M. Bridges of Stonington; three sisters, Shirley M. Raymond and her husband, Philip, of Rockwood, Margaret A. Bridges, and Linda C. Zanke, both of Stonington; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Antonio L. Quiterio, in 1986; her father, Lawson G. Bridges; and her brother, Lawson G. Bridges Jr. She and two of her sisters operated the Tiki Restaurant in Stonington for several years before she moved to Rocky Hill, Conn., where she worked in a deli and other grocery businesses, finally running a deli and her own catering service. After returning to Stonington in 1994, she enjoyed caring for her mother, grandchildren and others, making quilts for family and friends, and excelled in cooking and providing food for all who wanted or needed it. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Island Nursing Home, Route 15, Deer Isle, ME 04627.
