FRANKFORT – Carl C. McIntire Sr., 64, died May 11, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 15, 1940, in Belfast, the son of Carlton and Martha (Cummings) McIntire. He served in the Army National Guard, was a member of the V.F.W, the American Legion, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was employed with the Department of Transportation, retiring after 10 years of service. A man of all trades, he enjoyed driving trucks, riding his lawn mower, camping, going boating and lobstering, taking his grandchildren fishing, and most of all spending time with his family. Carl is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judith E. (Eaton) McIntire of Frankfort; three children, Carl C. McIntire Jr. and his wife, Bonnie of Swanville, Horace C. McIntire and his special companion, Kathleen Lathe of Unity, and Loretta McIntire and her special companion, Joseph Grotton of Frankfort; 11 grandchildren, three great-grand-children; two brothers, Everett McIntire and his wife, Beverly, of Frankfort, and Derwood McIntire and his wife, Lois, of Northport; several nieces and nephews including Bubby and Skip. Carl was predeceased by two sisters, Helen McIntire Dunham, and Dorothy Seekins; two brothers, Alfred McIntire, and Sidney McIntire, Sr. Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main St., Searsport. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at Grove Cemetery, Belfast, with Pastor Jim Begley officiating. A gathering for conversation and refreshment will follow the service at Judy McIntire’s home, 301 Loggin Road, Frankfort. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all of the doctors and nurses involved with Carl’s care, and to their family and friends for all the support they have received. In lieu of flowers, donation in Carl’s memory may be made to CancerCare of Maine, 417 State St., Bangor, ME 04401.
