KENNESAW, Ga. – Constance Knowles Williams, 78, of Kennesaw, Ga., died Saturday April 16, 2005. A native of Aroostook County, Connie had an unstoppable spirit through much adversity, the death of her husband, John P. Williams at an early age and the loss of a cherished companion of 25 years, Richard Sawyer. She fought her cancer successfully which first surfaced in 1991, and lived a full life for 14 years until her cancer remerged. Music was a passion for Connie, a gift fulfilled vicariously through her daughter. Among her passions was travel. Her wanderlust was infamous from an early age when she left northern Maine. She lived in Key West, Fla., and many points in between. Her nature flourished in the Japanese culture where she resided for three years. She adored her children and their many accomplishments. Her life was rich, she touched many lives with her love and caring, and passed on to her children, independence, character, and a strong will to succeed. Connie is survived by her children, Lisa W. (Charles) Sayre, of Kennesaw, Ga., Brent A. (Madonna) Williams, of Manassas, Va., and Stephen B. (Deborah) Saliba, of Brewer; grandchildren, Jacqueline Williams, Robert S. Saliba, and David S. Saliba; great-grandchildren, K’Leigh Williams, and Sara H. Saliba; extended family, Brian Sawyer, Sissy Sawyer, and Richard Sawyer Jr. Memorial services were held Tuesday, April 19, 2005, in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home, in Woodstock, Ga. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd., Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Woodstock Funeral Home, Woodstock, Ga.
