OLD TOWN – Donald Lewis King, 69, passed away early Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, as a result of complications with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Orono son of the late George L. and Dorothy M. (Braley) King who had both recently passed away. Donald was a graduate of Old Town High School Class of 1954. He continued his education at Husson College earning a bachelors degree in business. He served his country in the United States Army for three years. Donald was very active within his community and was a member of the Old Town/Orono Rotary Club, Old Town Elks, American Legion, Shriners, past master of the Old Town Masonic Lodge and life time member of the Old Town VFW. He worked in carpentry for many years with his father George and later with his sons Scott and Jeff. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He especially enjoyed the hunting and fishing trips with his friends. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife of 45 years, Nancy; daughter, Kimberly McKay and her husband, Gary, of Old Town; son, Scott King and his wife, Valerie, of Old Town; son, Jeffrey King and his wife, Candace, of Old Town; seven grandchildren, Miranda, Meghan and Brandon McKay, Jenna and Ali King, Caitlyn and Olivia King; a sister, Jacqueline Gardner of Williamston, N.C.; sister, Sharon LaFlamme and her husband, Bill, of Old Town; sister, Penny Halberstadt and her husband, John, of Kennett Square, Penn.; sister, Denise King and her husband, George, of Bradley; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents George and Dorothy; he was predeceased by a brother, Douglas Ray King; granddaughter, Emily Rae King; and brother-in-law, Pete Gardner. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, at the Old Town United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating. Friends and family are invited to the church hall immediately following the service for a luncheon and continued fellowship. Committal will be held in the spring at Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to the Donald L.
