BENTON, Ky. – Doris Mary (Gomm) Cole, 85, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Caldwell County Hospital, Princeton, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Gomm and the late Ezelda (Duplessie) Gomm. She was a member of Clifton Baptist Church, Clifton. She was also a worthy matron of Betheny Chapter of the Eastern Star, president of the Garden Club of Clifton, president of the Quilters Club of Summerfield, Fla., grange of East Eddington, Sunday school teacher, midwife and taught China painting. Mrs. Cole was a gourmet cook, seamstress, a foster parent and taught youth fellowship in Stockton Springs. She is survived by one daughter, Ethel Ward of Summerfield, Fla.; one son, Cleon Henry Cole Jr. and wife, Bonnie, of Benton, Ky.; three sisters, Mary Lawler and Caroline Gomm, both of Bangor, Margaret Wood of Bremerton, Wash.; six brothers, Harold Gomm of Bremerton, Wash., Victor Gomm of Lake Isabella, Calif., Alfred Gomm and Charles Gomm, both of Bangor, Clifford Gomm of Anderson, Mo., and Edward Gomm of Palo Cedro, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cole was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Cleon H. Cole Sr.; and a son, Clifford Earl Cole. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Collier Funeral Chapel, Benton, Ky., with the Rev.
