PROSPECT – Dorothy Fay Perry, 80, died Aug. 18, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Penobscot, the daughter of Fred and Muriel June (Littlefield) Pickering. She graduated from Bucksport High School, enjoyed working in her flower garden, cooking and crocheting. Dorothy was a very hard working lady, was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed Christmas time with them. She was a former member of the VFW, Belfast. She is survived by her brother, James R. Pickering of Searsport; daughter, Muriel Murray and her life partner, David Crockett, of Prospect; son, Frederick “Rick” Hutchins and his wife, Rhonda, of Searsport; grandchildren, April Haney, Angelia Thomas, Frederick Hutchins II, Shane and Shannon Murray; her longtime friend and former husband, Harold L. Hutchins Sr.; 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and good friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Perry; her grandson, Shawn Murray; and her youngest brother, Clyde O. Pickering. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Route 3, Belfast. Interment will be at Back Ridge Cemetery, East Orland.
