PRESQUE ISLE – Douglas C. Brown, 81 died Tuesday evening July 12, 2005 at a Caribou hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1923, in New Brunswick, Canada, the son of George and Georgia (Brawn) Brown. Doug served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a plant operator at the Presque Isle Water District for 30 years. He is survived by four sons and their wives; Gary Brown of Presque Isle, Wayne and Pat Brown of Easton, Russell and Kelly Brown of Yuma, Ariz., Jeff and Lisa Brown of Presque Isle; a daughter, Gloria Clair and her husband, Frank of Mapleton; a half brother, Vernon Brown of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Thelma Brown of Presque Isle, Juanita Heitz of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Kimball) Brown in April 2003. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday July 15, 2005, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Kevin Kierstead officiating. Relatives and friends may call from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle.
