PRESQUE ISLE – Edna J. Hilt, 90, wife of the late Rodney Hilt, died Feb. 16, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Chapman, the daughter of Simeon and Blanche (Murray) Littlefield. Edna was a 50-year member of Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, Presque Isle. She was employed at Sears and Roebuck at the catalog desk for several years, beginning there the day the store opened for business, and was later employed at the Presque Isle city office for 12 years as an accounts payable clerk. She was a former member of the Presque Isle Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary for many years. Edna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as, cooking, making crafts and working in her flower gardens. Surviving her is her son and his wife, Robert C. and Karen Hilt of Chapman; grandchildren, Jason Giggie, Melissa Dyer and her husband, Brent; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Amelia Dyer, all of Presque Isle; a brother, Bennie Littlefield of Chapman; a brother-in-law and his wife, Ray and Bette Hilt of Sedro Wooley, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Mildred Whitney of Bailey Island; several nieces, nephews, cousins; her special family at Leisure Gardens; and her co-workers at city hall. Predeceasing her is a brother, Ralph Littlefield; and two sisters, Hazel and Myrtle Littlefield. Relatives and friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Refreshments will be provided in the gathering area of the funeral home. Graveside services will be held later in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery.
