HOMOSASSA, Fla. – Eleanor Haley Becker, 77, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007. She was born Nov. 26, 1929, in Attleboro, Mass., daughter of James and Mary White Haley of Houlton. Mrs. Becker was valedictorian of Houlton High School, Class of 1947, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston University. She taught special education in the Worcester, Mass., school system and owned PAXAP Realty, Paxton, Mass., from which she retired. She was a member of the Worcester County Board of Realtors. She loved cooking and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed raising horses and cattle and having dogs as her pets. She and her husband, Robert Ivan Becker, to whom she was married for 37 years, traveled in their motor home throughout the United States and Canada. Mrs. Becker was an accomplished artist using both oils and acrylics. She and her husband moved to Homosassa, Fla., from Paxton, Mass., in 2002. She was predeceased by her parents; and her first husband, Donald Perry. Mrs. Becker is survived by her husband, Robert of Homosassa, Fla.; sons, Calvin James Perry of Millbury, Mass., and Ronald Miles Perry and his wife, Deborah of Holden, Mass.; stepsons, Bradford R. Becker of Petersham, Mass., and Don R. Becker of Winchester, N.H.; sisters, Gladys Spooner of Houlton, Ruth Nickerson of Homosassa, Fla., and Dorothy Fitzpatrick of Houlton; brother, James E. Haley of Hodgdon; and seven grandchildren, Darrell Perry, Scott Perry, Jenna Perry, Robbie Becker, Jaci Becker, Don Becker and Wendy Becker. She was called mother by Susan Colombo and Thomas Bayrouty and “Grammy” by Allison Doyle Ford.
