WINTERPORT – Esther C. Shaw, 89, died March 25, 2006, at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 27, 1916, in Brewer, the daughter of Chester A. and Carrie Cone Craney. A long-time resident of Westbrook, she had been living with her daughter, Reva Shaw Newey in Winterport because of failing health. Esther was predeceased by her husband, Lincoln K. Shaw; her parents, three brothers, Herman Craney, Arthur Craney and James Craney; and her son-in-law, Kent M. Newey. She is survived by her sister, Ruth N. Craney of Otter Creek; her daughter, Ruth Neff and son-in-law, Louis Neff, of Grand Junction, Colo.; her daughter, Reva Shaw Newey; nine Neff grandchildren and 13 Neff great-grandchildren; as well as the children, grandchildren, great-grandson and extended family of Kent M. Newey, who thought of her as one of their own. Interment will be at Otter Creek Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by Foley Funeral Service of Bangor.
