ETHEL E. BEALS BLAINE – Ethel E. Beals, 78, died May 11, 2004, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Hartland, New Brunswick, the daughter of Harry and Elva Downey. She is survived by her husband, Maurice M. Beals of Blaine; a brother, Clair Downey and his partner, Gladdis, of Sidney, British Columbia; two stepsons, Jeffery J. Beals and his wife, Yvonne, of Madison, and Terrance and his wife, Karen, of Kent, Wash.; three step-granddaughters; and one step-grandson; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lloyd Nicholson of Hartland, New Brunswick. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Elwood; and sister, Mildred. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at the Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, with the Rev. Gardner Smith and Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will take place in Hartland, New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Ethel’s memory to the Blaine First Free Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements in care of Duncan Funeral Home.
