CHARLOTTE and PRINCETON – Evelyn R. McGlauflin, 99, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at a Calais nursing home. Evelyn was born April 20, 1908, in Pembroke, the daughter of the late John and Mabel (Sinclair) Roy. She married William H. McGlauflin, September 1929. During the war, she worked for Hamilton Standard Propeller Co., Hartford, Conn. After the war, Evelyn came back to Charlotte and worked at Sunset Packing Co., Pembroke. She was a member of Willowbrook Rebecca Lodge No. 131, Pembroke. In addition to her husband, Evelyn was predeceased by her son, Gordon, who was a war casualty, in 1952; and a grandson, Michael Bryant, in 1996. Surviving are her daughter, Norma “Arlene” Waycott of Princeton; three grandsons, Dennis and wife, Libby Bryant, Anthony and Louise Colarusso, and Larry Colarusso; a granddaughter, Laura and Warrant Hunt; four great-grandchildren, Jeff Bryant, Kelly Bryant, Stephen Hunt and Adam Hunt; and a great-great-grandson, Mitchell Townsend. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Round Pond Cemetery, Char-lotte.
