EAST MILLINOCKET – Flet-cher G. Cottle, 87, husband of Margaret (Vey-sey) Cottle, died Aug. 21, 2007, at Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born Aug 11, 1920, in Wytopitlock, the son of Harry and Flora (Woods) Cottle. Fletcher served three years in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was discharged as quartermaster. After his retirement, he enjoyed his garden in the summertime and gave away a lot of vegetables to his neighbors. In the winter, he enjoyed ice fishing. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Margaret, he is survived by two daughters, Stephanie and her husband, Stephen Fraser, of Medway, and Tammy Cottle of Stratham, N.H.; a brother, Everett Cottle and his wife, Donna, of Macwahoc; four sisters-in-law, Cecelia Farrell of Lincoln, Norma Cottle of Mattawamkeag, Joyce Veysey of Bangor, and Pauline Stewart of Linneus; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Ervin, Adrian and Eugene Cottle; and a sister, Delarosa Ellis. The family gives a special thank you to Diana and staff at Maine Veterans’ Home – B unit. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joel Cyr, presiding. Interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery. There will be a gathering after the service at St. Peter’s Parish Center.
