FLORENCE LAWRENCE O’BRIEN WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florence L. O’Brien, 87, died Aug. 16, 2003, in Florida. She was born in Jonesport, March 27, 1916, the daughter of Earl and Ella Lamson. She graduated from Jonesport High School. In 1948, she went to work for Maine Employment Security Commission in Portland, retiring in 1978. Florence was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Lawrence; brothers, Franklin and Forest Lamson; and her sister, Florence. She is survived by her husband, John O’Brien; a sister, Barbara Heathcoat; a brother, William and his wife, Janette Lamson; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave., Portland.
