MACHIAS – Gardner M. Faulkingham, 36, went to be with his Lord on May 30, 2004, after a life long struggle with Friedrich’s Ataxia. He was born June 17, 1967, the son of Orrin W. Faulkingham and Irene Wood Look, both of Jonesboro. He graduated from Machias Memorial High School in 1985, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He attended the University of Maine at Machias. Gardner volunteered many summers as a counselor at Teco Lodge. He was a member of the Machias Valley Baptist Church. Gardner’s greatest gift was the way he touched and altered the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his strong spirit and kind heart. In addition to his loving wife, Clara, he is survived by his angel, his daughter, Meghan. He is also survived by his father, Orrin Faulkingham; his mother and stepfather, Irene Jere Look, all of Jonesboro. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Albert W. Faulkingham of Jonesboro; and his sister, Ruthie Faulkingham and her friend, Rob McCannell, of Irving Texas. He is survived by two nieces, Jessica Faulkingham of Harrington, and Lauren McCannell of Irving, Texas. In addition he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Percy and Ruth Wood of Whiting; and his paternal grandfather, Albert E. Faulkingham of Jonesboro. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Irene M. Faulkingham. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at the Machias Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. George Henderson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Bayview Cemetery, Jonesport.
