GUILFORD – George W. Fairfield Jr., beloved father and friend, died April 23, 2005, at his son’s home in Guilford, with family and friends at his side. George was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Bingham. He was predeceased by Beverly, his wife of more than 53 years, in 1999. “Pappy” is survived by his two sons, Skip and his wife, Cindy, of Greenville, Robin and his wife, Marge, of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, brothers-in-law; sisters, and sisters-in-law, and hundreds of friends, none more special than Millie Porter of Southwest Harbor. A memorial service will be held promptly at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Augusta. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
