TALLAHASSEE, FLA. and BEALS – Gracia L. McGahagin, 81, wife of the late Roy McGahagin, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at her home in Florida. She was a native of Jonesport and moved to Tallahassee in 1955. Following her retirement from the Florida Limerock Association, where she was an executive secretary, Gracia and Roy spent the summer months in Beals, the ancestral home of the family. A long-time community activist, she was a member of the Tallahassee Garden Club and the Antebellum Krewe of Springtime, Tallahassee. She also held statewide office in the Ladies Auxiliary of Optimist International. Also active in the American Red Cross, she organized the Gray Ladies Program of Tallahassee. An avid Florida State football fan, she was a longtime member of the Seminole Boosters and was a former member of the Capital City Country Club. She loved the Lord. Gracia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Marianna, Fla. and the Church of Jesus Christ Lamb of God in Jonesport. She is survived by a son, Navy Senior Master Chief Charles McGahagin and his wife, Barbara; a daughter, Jenny M. Fagonde and her husband, Nathan, of Beals; two sisters, Ruth Carver and her husband, Guy Jr. and Leta Beal and her husband, Earlon, all of Beals; four grandchildren, Heather McGahagin, Roy Fagonde and his wife, Theresa, Peter Fagonde and his wife, Danielle and Natalie White and her husband, Stephen; four great-grandchildren, Patrick, Dakota, Nathan and Eben; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Marguerite Wilson and Eileen Beal; and a brother, Frederick Lenfestey. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ Lamb of God, West Main Street, Jonesport, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13. Gifts in memory of Gracia may be sent to the American Red Cross, 187 Office Plaza Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32301. Arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
