GARLAND – Harold “Butch” Francis Davidson Jr., 68, husband of Carol (Lyford) Davidson, died Dec. 13, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 12, 1939, in Derby, Conn., the son of Harold Francis and Helen (Honas) Davidson. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp from 1956 to 1962. After his discharge from the service he worked as a maintenance engineer at Yale University, New Haven, Conn.; Haley Construction Co., Guilford; Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor; and at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He loved his Harley motorcycle and his dog, Sonny. Butch is survived by his wife, Carol of Garland; a brother, Bobby Beal and his wife, Deb; and niece and goddaughter, Tammy of Connecticut; a sister, Sunday Mae Merza of Florida; two sons, Harold “Butch” F. Davidson III and his wife, Holly, and David Davidson and his wife, Patty, all of Connecticut; five daughters, Janet Davidson of Florida, Sharon Davidson of California, Dolly Shashaty and her husband, Dan, of Florida, Darla Micelli and her husband, Joe, of Connecticut, and Annie Bowman and her husband, Rob, of Charleston; four stepdaughters, Dawn Gallant and her husband, Greg, of Corinna, Vicki Levesque and her husband, Tim, of Levant, Sherri Coburn and her husband, Mike, of Milo and Tricia Stanhope and her husband, Raymond, of Brownville; 25 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, James O’Connor; his mother and father; and a special stepdad, Bill. Graveside memorial services at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, will be announced by Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, in the spring.
