BANGOR – Lena Howell, 92, wife of the late William F. Howell, died Oct. 23, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare center. She was born Sept. 10, 1912, in LaGrange, the daughter of Royal and Mary (Witham) Decker. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School Class of 1932 and Eastern Academy of Beauty Culture, Bangor. She worked at the Vinnee Beauty Shop for Several years. Mrs. Howell was a member of the American Legion Auxilliary post No. 12, a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society and the AUW Guild. Surving are one son, Ronald Howell and his wife, Mary, of Bangor; three grandchildren, Debra Parkhurst and her husband, Scott, Michele Morrison and her husband, Jason, Jennifer Hagerty and her husband Shawn; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Meaghan and Jordan Parkhust, Logan and Aidan Hagerty, and Page and Sydney Morrison; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 26, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Elaine Beth Peresluha, pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Bangor, officitain. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
