COOPER – Malcolm L. Hatton, 72, died unexpectedly Jan. 2, 2006, in Cooper, doing what he loved. He was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Charlotte, the son of the late Ralph F. and Leta (Flood) Hatton. Malcolm lived his life to the fullest and especially enjoyed spending time at Cathance Lake. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Carolyn Hatton; one brother, Carleton and his wife, Betty; three sons, Douglas, Thomas and Bruce; four daughters, Lynda, Heidi, Marsha and Barbara; five grandsons, eight granddaughters, including a very special granddaughter, Alicia Lynn; one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Malcolm was predeceased by two brothers, Everett and Donald; and by two special ducks in the early 80’s, Rum and Coke. Malcolm will be greatly missed by all that knew him. There will be no visiting hours or funeral services at Malcolm’s request. A memorial service will be held July 4, at Cathance Lake.
