BANGOR – Margarette “Alice” Clark, 96, died Nov. 10, 2003, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born May 9, 1907, in Bangor, the daughter of William Nicholas and Margaret M. (Rice) Perkins. Alice was known as “Nana” by most around the neighborhood and by many who knew her. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in the garden and nurturing plants. More than anything she loved her family, all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by three children, M. Mary Ryan of Bangor, Herbert “Bill” Clark and wife, Patricia, of Bangor and Janeen Oles of Sidney, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Helen Boyle of Bangor; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grand-children; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Renee Lindsey. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Herbert W. Clark in 1971; a daughter, Jean Roberts in 1997, and a son, Raymond “Buster” Clark in 1940. Friends are invited to meet with the family 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Richard Harvey, celebrant. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
