MARIANNE B. VARNEY EASTPORT – Marianne B. Varney, 96, passed away Oct. 11, 2003, at her home in Eastport. She was born Feb. 12, 1907, in the Elm Cottage in Eastport the daughter of Frank and Amy (Doughty) Varney. Marianne graduated from Shead Memorial High School in 1924. After graduation she worked on Water Street for Judge Vose, at the Pennamaquan Light Co. and then the Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. She loved her home, her church and her city and told wonderful stories of life here. She was predeceased by her sister, Violet. She is survived by many cousins and her beloved companion and caregiver, Mary Pottle Friends may call 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday at her home at 15 Key St. Funeral services will follow immediately at Christ Episcopal Church. Donations in her memory may be made to Christ Episcopal Church.
