WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Marie Margaret Foote, 86, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, in Winter Haven, Fla., after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born June 8, 1921, in Washburn, she was the daughter of Evard and Irene (Madore) Drake. She was a 1938 graduate of Washburn High School. On Feb. 14, 1939, she married Oden S. Foote. They were married for 53 years before he passed away in 1992. Mrs. Foote and her husband moved to Dell Lake Village, Dundee, Fla., in 1979, where she remained until her move to Spring Haven Retirement Home in 2006. She was involved in many park events and committees. She was also a dedicated member of Haines City First Presbyterian Church and especially enjoyed tutoring children in the Wonderful Wednesday’s program there. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Foote was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Drake. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Quinn and her husband, Robert, of Windham and Venice, Fla.; grandson, Richard Quinn, his wife, Veronica and children, Anthony and Nicholas, of South Carolina; granddaughter, Christine Sinkewicz and her husband, Rob and children, Amanda and Sara, of Vermont; brothers, Wilbur Drake of Utah, Allen Drake of Connecticut, Melvin Drake of Tennessee and Rodney Drake of Haines City, Fla.; and sisters, Lillian Curtis of Maine, Betty Berglind of South Carolina and Helen Tompkins of Maine. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at First Presbyterian Church, Haines City, Fla.
