MILLINOCKET – Mary Jane (Jean) Ayotte Oliver Deschaine, died at a local health care facility. Jean, as family and friends in the Millinocket area affectingly knew her, was born in Fort Kent, July 31, 1913. She was the sixth of eight children of Vital and Sophie (Corbin) Ayotte. Her family moved to Millinocket in 1923, and in 1934, she married Raymond E. Oliver Jr. Together they raised three children. Eight years after Raymond’s death, she married Louis Deschaine in June 1966, and moved to Quincy, Mass. After only eight years together, Louie died. Jean made many friends in Quincy, from the bowling league to the jobs she held. She retired as pastry chef in 1981 from Quincy City Hospital. When her health started to fail in 1993 she returned to Millinocket to be near her children. She made many new friends at Crestview Apartments, Sweet Seniors and Katahdin Nursing Home. Her sister, Eva Harris of Orono; her children and spouses, Richard and Patricia Oliver of Medway, David and Shirley Oliver of Millinocket, and Linda and Forest Emerson of Bradley; her grandchildren, Mark and Glenda Oliver, Debbie and Mike Fitzgerald, Mary Jane and Mike McCleary, Amy and George Carman, and Joe and Connie Oliver; her stepgrandchildren, Tim and Danny Dishon, Sonya Schumacher; nine great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews, survive her. Her two husbands; her parents; three brothers, Paul, Joseph and Gerard; three sisters, Helene Pelletier, Marie (Maddie) Beaulieu, and Leona Roy; and one great-grandson, Travis Paul Carman, predeceased her. The family wants to express heartfelt gratitude for the love and care that was given to our mother by the staff at Katahdin Nursing Home. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at the R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
