BANGOR – Paul G. Baldacci Sr., 48, passed away unexpectedly due to heart complications, early Thursday morning, Jan. 26, 2006. He was born Dec. 4, 1957, in Bangor, the fifth of eight children to Robert and Rosemary Baldacci. Paul lived his life in Bangor, graduating in 1976, from Bangor High School. Growing up in Bangor, Paul developed passions for art, golf and politics. Paul was an integral part of his family’s well-known and loved restaurant, but his greatest achievement was his family. Paul always had a reassuring way about him, reminding us that everything would be okay. Anyone who was graced by Paul’s presence was overtaken by his peaceful demeanor and words of wisdom. Paul was happiest when he was with his family and cherished every moment of his life. He was always there for anyone who was in need, offering them reassurance without asking for anything in return. For Paul, everything was always going to be alright. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Rosemary Baldacci. He is survived by his loving children, Paul Jr. and Elise, who he cared so much about; his siblings, Robert Jr., Peter, John, Gerard, Joseph, Rosemary and Lisa Baldacci; his nieces and nephews, Bobby, Kate, Andrew, Jack, Caroline, Olivia, and Teddy; his trusted pet companions, Belle and Manny; the crew at the restaurant, whom he thought of as family; and many special friends and family members. He and his welcoming smile will never be forgotten. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A private service will be held Sunday at Brookings-Smith. Private interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Paul’s life 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at Baldacci’s Restaurant, 12 Alden St., Bangor. Those who wish to remember Paul in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Paul Baldacci Memorial Fund, for the benefit of his children, care of Peter Baldacci, 46 Main St., Bangor, ME 04401.
