PARKMAN – Phyllis M. (Patterson) Moynihan, died peacefully Jan. 27, 2008, after a long illness at Dexter Health Care, where she had been a resident for the past month. She was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Corinna, to Ralph and Ellen Patterson. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1947. Shortly afterwards, she moved to Massachusetts where she met and married John Moynihan, March 23, 1955. He died in 2003. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with friends and especially treasured her cat, Parker. For many years, she enjoyed gardening and berry picking and making great jams and jellies for her family. She worked at Guilford Textile Mill of Maine for many years and retired in 1985. She is survived by five daughters and their families, Barbara Moynihan of West Roxbury, Mass., Tamara and James Dupre of North Billerica, Mass., Wendy and Michael MacDonald of North Berwick, Denise and Scott Knowlton of Parkman, and Robin and Alston Cookson of Cambridge; 13 grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife, Melissa, Matthew, Tobin, Jenna, Ian, Nathan, Adam, Kaitlin, Andrea, Brenna, Taylor, Laura and Devin; a special sister-in-law, Faye Smart; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, John; and brother, Evard Patterson. Spring interment will be at Pingree Center Cemetery, Parkman, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements under the direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
