JONESPORT – Ronald Bartlett Tucker, 83, died May 3, 2004, at a Machias nursing home. He was born June 8, 1920, in Portland, the son of the late Warren B. and Emma (Farnsworth) Tucker of Jonesport. Ronald attended school in Jonesport and also served in the U.S. Army. During his lifetime he worked at various occupations including driving school buses, transporting the U.S. Mail, and delivering fuel oil, clothing and seafood. He also worked as a carpenter and at the Frost Shipyard in Jonesport. Upon his retirement, he spent many hours maintaining the trails on the Nature Conservancy’s Great Wass Island Preserve in the Town of Beals. Ronald had a great love of nature and took pleasure in the time he spent keeping the trails groomed and open for visitors. Ronald was a member of Community of Christ Church (formerly R.L.D.S.) at Jonesport, and held the office of teacher in the priesthood. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Walker Tucker; two daughters, Brenda Dodge and her husband, Douglas, of Beals, Peggy Micue and her husband, Dwaine, of Oakland; three grandchildren, Douglas Dodge Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Addison, Kely Dodge Corbett and her husband, Christian, of Woolwich, and Kristi Micue Farrell and her husband, Jason, of Sidney; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Kathryn, Samuel all of Woolwich and Kourtney and Kelsey of Sidney; two brothers, Franklin C. Tucker and friend, Dorothy MacDowell, of Florida, and Daniel H. Tucker of Jonesport; a sister-in-law, Madolyn Rogers Tucker of Jonesport; a brother-in-law, Leon Simmons and his wife, Phyllis, of Andover; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Tucker of Brewer; two nieces and their families, Sharon Tucker Church of Jonesport, and Rebecca Tucker Dobson of Washington. He was predeceased by a son, Franklin A. Tucker; and a brother, LeRoy E. Tucker and his wife, Jean Leighton Tucker. Ronald will be remembered by family and friends at a graveside service 2 p.m. June 20, 2004, at Greenwood Cemetery in Jonesport.
