VAN BUREN – Rudolph W. Thibodeau, 79, died June 5, 2004, at a Caribou hos-pital. He was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Van Buren, the son of Adolph and Modeste (Martin) Thibodeau. Rudy served in the U.S. Army for 24 years and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany during World War II and met his wife, Claudette, of 58 years in Lyons, France in 1945. Following his retirement from military service he returned to Van Buren where he was employed by the Northern National Bank and also worked for S.A.D. No. 24 as business administrator for the district. He then moved to Orlando, Fla., where he was employed as a purchasing agent for the U.S. Navy until his retirement. He and his wife returned to Van Buren last November. Rudy was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1635 and Fourth Degree Assembly of Van Buren. He was a former member of the Van Buren Lions Club and the Orlando Elks Club. Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Claudette (Dufourt) Thibodeau whom he met in Lyons, France, in 1945; one son, Gerard Thibodeau and his wife, Ellen, of Granby, Conn.; two grandchildren, Marielle Thibodeau and Matthew Thibodeau; three sisters, Mildred Soucy of Van Buren, Verna Paradis and Theresa Danielson, both of Plainville, Conn.; three brothers, Fernand Thibodeau of Van Buren, Martin Thibodeau of The Village, Fla., and Rev. Raynold Thibodeau, O.F.M., of Yonkers, N.Y. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
