PITTSFIELD – Scott E. Smith, 84, peacefully passed away while fishing on Great Moose Lake in Hartland, Oct. 19, 2004. He was born June 28, 1920, in Mars Hills, the son of Beecher Smith and Emma (Miller) Smith. He graduated Mars Hill High School and then went on to attend Fort Kent State Teachers College. He was also a veteran of World War II in the Army. He was a poultry farmer for several years and before that he worked as a hand sewer at Northeast Shoe in Pittsfield. Scott was predeceased by his wife, Kay. He is survived by one daughter, Susan Mullins of Kentucky; a son, Roger Smith and his wife, Georgette Hunter, of Limerick; five grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, ME 04967 and the service arrangement will be announced at a later date.
