VERNON, Conn. – Shirley (Lint) Martin Butler, 74, of Rockville, Conn. passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Mapleton, the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Rand) Lint. She was predeceased by her husband, John. She leaves three daughters, Jackie Dumeer and her husband, Jim, of Southington, Conn. Doreen Collett and her husband, Joe, of Manchester, Conn. and Joanna Parady of Rockville, Conn.; three sons, Reginald Martin and his wife, Debbie, of Colchester, Richard Martin and his wife, Debbie, of Tipton, Ind. Philip Martin and his wife, Kory, of Ashford; five sisters, Erlene Black, Doris Pickard, Mickie Philbrook, Ada Lint and Joan McLellan, all of Maine, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; and her faithful dog, Mocha. She enjoyed her family, gardening, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, knitting and crocheting. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and loyal friend, Doris. A private memorial service will be held. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
