WOODSTOCK, NEW BRUNS-WICK – Spurgeon Jasper Sisson, 87, of Woodstock, husband of Leatha G. (Budrow) Sisson, passed away Friday, July 1, 2005, at the Carleton Memorial Hospital. Born in Perth Andover, he was the son of the late Percy Allen and Lula Geneva Zella (Tompkins) Sisson. A veteran of World War II, Flight Lieutenant Spurgeon Jasper Sisson DFC, his military decorations are: the Distinguished Flying Cross, the 1939-45 Star, the France & Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the War Medal 1939-45, and the Canadian Forces Decoration. He received an honorable discharge as flight lieutenant, Dec. 13, 1963. In addition to his wife, Spurgeon is survived by two sons, Bryan (Deborah) Sisson of Logan, Utah and Charles (Peggy) Sisson of Winterport; two daughters, Brenda (Donald) Budrow of Bath, New Brunswick and Maureen (Joseph) Theriault of Cary Plantation; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Spurgeon was predeceased by five brothers, Clarence, Basil, Harry, Spurgeon, and William; and two sisters, Hazel Kelley and Edith Faloon. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main St., Woodstock, New Brunswick, with visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (Atlantic Time) Tuesday. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. (Atlantic Time) Wednesday, from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel.
