BANGOR – Staff Sgt. Kristofer Raymond Ciraso, 26, was killed in action Dec. 7, 2006, in Iraq, while on patrol. Kristofer was born April 25, 1980, the son of Paul Ciraso and Lois Russell. He grew up in Massachusetts and Maine, graduating from Bangor High School in 1999. He was involved in the Junior ROTC program there. Staff Sgt. Ciraso was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, where he was a leader of a unit known as the Black Knights. Survivors include daughter, Liberty Leighann Murdock of Fort Hood, Texas; fiance, Tracy Murdock of Fort Hood, Texas; parents, Paul Ciraso and Nancy of Lampasas, Texas; mother, Lois Russell of Tennessee; grandmother, Claire Wilson of Lampasas, Texas; grandfather, John Ciraso of Massachusetts; sisters, Trisha Ann Ciraso of New York and Barbara Barnett of Pennsylvania; niece and nephew, Kendell and Bianca Ciraso. Funeral services for Staff Sgt. Kristofer Raymond Ciraso will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at First Baptist Church, Lampasas, Texas, with Dr. Rick Willis officiating. Interment with full military honors will be 2 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans’ Cemetery, Killeen, Texas. Family visitations will be held 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, and 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Sneed Funeral Chapel, Lampasas, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Christian Education Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church Lampasas, 402 South Key Ave., Lampasas, TX 76550. Sneed Funeral Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
