Wendell E. Little, 78, died May 1, 2005, at a local hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Littleton the son of James A. and Julia T. (Crouse) Little. Wendell served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Military Street Baptist Church and the Houlton VFW. Wendell drove truck for a number of years and then worked as a mechanic for the Maine D.O.T. for 25 years. Following retirement, he worked for Leon Little & Sons. Wendell loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. His family was very important to him as well, and he very much enjoyed gatherings, whatever the occasion. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Winona “Nonie” G. (Slipp) Little; his son, Eugene Little and his wife, Kelly, their daughters, Emily and Allison; his daughter, Gail M. Miller and husband, Guy, their children, Megan and Jillian, all of Littleton, Robert and Jennifer Miller of Fredericton, N.B.; one brother, Leon Little; one sister, Greta Michaud; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter, Nancy Little; two brothers, Robert and Erwin; and his sister, Kathleen “Kitty” Folsom. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment will be in the Littleton Cemetery.
