BREWER and VAN BUREN Muriel B. Violette, 76, died Nov. 2, 2008, after a brief illness, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 23, 1932, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the daughter of Leopold and Evelyn (Theriault) Bilodeau. Muriel and Rosaire were longtime residents of Van Buren where they were communicants of St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. In 1975, Muriel graduated from the University of Maine at Fort Kent with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She was a dedicated teacher in the Van Buren school system for more than 20 years. In 1995, Muriel and Rosaire moved to Brewer during their retirement to be closer to their children and grandchildren, where they were communicants of St. Teresa Catholic Church. Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Rosaire; her daughter, Elaine Mitchell; and a sister, Renette Morch. Surviving are four children, Louise Dubay and her husband, LeRoy, of Bangor, Sue Cyr and her husband, David, of Cape Elizabeth, Paul Violette of Brewer, and John Violette and his wife, Chittima, of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Dubay and his wife, Rena, of Hampden, Mariah (Dubay) Sirois and her husband, Nicholas, of Milford, Nikki Cyr of New York City, Valerie Cyr of Boston, Lucas Violette of Orrington, Scott Violette of Charleston, S.C., Brianna Mitchell of Boston, and Pimpila Violette of Raleigh, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Amelia and Evan Dubay of Hampden and Lillyanah Sirois of Milford; a sister, France Bisson and her husband, Richard; two brothers, Gilles Bilodeau and his wife, Lucille, Claude Bilodeau and his wife, Elaine, all of Canada; several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by a special friend and neighbor, Esther Kennett. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Brewer. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. A time of fellowship will be immediately after the burial at the parish center.
