BREWER and BANGOR – Ada M. (Jones) Hanson, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at a Brewer health care facility. She was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Oakfield the daughter of Clifton and Faye (Spearon) Jones. Ada was employed many years at Emple Knitting Mill. She enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and camping. Her hobbies included knitting, cooking, canning and pickling. Ada is survived by her son, Duane Hanson and his wife, Cynthia, of Orrington; daughters, Judy Morse and her husband, John, of Trenton, Ruth Cheverie and her husband, Richard, of Eddington and Cynthia Desjardins and her husband, Rick, of Sanford; grandchildren, Duane, Wendy, Jody, Jennifer, Christopher, Tabitha, Karl and Kayla; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Darrell Hanson; sisters, Mildred Glidden and Leila Dam; and a very special granddaughter, Amber. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 3 p.m. with the Rev. Charles G. Farley, pastor of West Hampden Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be held in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
