PALMYRA and DEXTER – Evelyn M. Pullyard, 102, died Oct. 24, 2009, surrounded by her family at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born Oct. 5, 1907, in Dexter, daughter of Joseph and Mabel (Clukey) Gilbert. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, and was a charter member of Daughters of Isabella. She worked at Crown Alexander Woolen Mill, Dexter, for more than 18 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, and enjoyed time at her camp at Echo Lake. She is survived by three daughters, Janice Priest of Palmyra, Joyce Larrabee and Sandra Crocker, both of Dexter; a sister, Zepharine Landry of Dexter; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Pullyard; four brothers, Donald, Reginald, Clifford and Phillip Gilbert; two sisters, Eva Gilbert and Florence Small; and a grandson, Wayne Chevery. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with Deacon Frederick Harrigan officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
