LINCOLNVILLE – Keryn Barker Laite Sr., 71, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Waldo County General Hospital. Born April 20, 1938, in Camden, he was the son of Gilbert C. and Dorothy (Stone) Laite. Keryn was a 1956 graduate of Camden High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and married his childhood sweetheart, Ruth “Sally” Crockett, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Camden, in 1960. He was a member of King David’s Masonic Lodge and United Christian Church, Lincolnville. Keryn was a very special friend to so many people who will greatly miss his kind words of encouragement, wisdom and love. Surviving is his wife, Ruth “Sally” Laite of Lincolnville; his four children, Keryn B. Laite Jr. and his wife, Heidi, of Lincolnville, Stephen C. Laite and his wife, Jackie, of West Rockport, Heidi E. Jackson and her husband, Scott, of Searsmont and Peter S. Laite and his wife, Jennifer, of Hendersonville, N.C.; grandchildren, Chris, Brittany, Matt, Justin, Cody, Anthony, Robyn, twins: Jordan and Jamie, Avery and Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Blaine and Kylie; two brothers, Gilbert C. Laite Jr. of Northport and Parker S. Laite Sr. of Camden; several special nieces, nephews and cousins. Keryn will be especially missed by his special dog, Rusty. He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Vance B. Laite. In keeping with his wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
