BANGOR and ELLSWORTH – Gloria F. Bradford, 79, formerly of Ellsworth, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, in Bangor. She was born May 7, 1930, in Ellsworth, the daughter of the late Irving and Rena (Thompson) Bradford. Ms. Bradford resided with her parents in Ellsworth for most of her life until her hospitalization. During her time in Ellsworth, she had a way with animals and loved them dearly. Throughout the course of her life, she had always enjoyed listening to “cowboy” music and listening to the accordion. Some of her other hobbies were bingo, cards and taking rides with other residents from her facility where she was able to enjoy Maine’s beauty. Her favorite food was clams and she would enjoy them for any meal of the day. She is survived by her brothers, Irving Bradford of Washington, Maine, and Bruce Bradford of Lancaster, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be sadly missed by staff and residents at Bayview Manor, Searsport, where she was a resident for the past 12 years and also East Side Rehabilitation, Bangor. Gloria was predeceased by a brother, Harold Bradford; and two sisters, Pauline Bradford and Margaret Sanborn. Graveside services will be held noon Thursday, Nov. 12, at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth, with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
