HAMPDEN and EASTON, Mass. – Morag Murray, 82, wife of Donald Murray, formerly of Easton, Mass., died Nov. 7, 2009, at her home with her family at her side, after a brief illness. She was born July 29, 1927, in Loch Brom, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie W. (Muir) Allen. Morag and Donald were longtime residents of Easton, Mass., until moving to Maine in 2003. She graduated from Wheaton College, Summa Cum Laude with a master’s degree in art history and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society. She loved art history and enjoyed antiquing, classical music and everything related to the stock market. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Donald Murray of Hampden; four children, Shawna and Janice Murray of Massachusetts, Donald Murray and his wife, Meredith, of Quebec, and Allison Valley and her husband, John, of Holden; five grandchildren, Sarah and Lindsay Murray of Quebec, and Adelaide, Aidan and Rowan Valley of Holden; one brother, Albert Allen of Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Canada. Family and friends may visit 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a service honoring her life will begin 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, Eastern Maine Medical Center, chaplaincy director, presiding. A time of fellowship will be immediately afterward.
