PALERMO – Francis X. Lamb, 69, of Martin Woods Road, died Nov. 20, 2009, at Winthrop Manor, Winthrop, after an extended illness. He was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Meriden, Conn., son of Charles W. Lamb and Margaret (O’Neill) Lamb. Mr. Lamb was educated in Connecticut, graduating from the University of Connecticut with an associate degree in agriculture in 1960. He was employed as a federal milk inspector in Maine and Connecticut for a total of 48 years by Federal Milk Marketing Administration. He was a resident of Maine for 32 years, where he owned his farm Aggravation Acres. He left a wake of many friends and acquaintances. He was quick witted and had a joke for every occasion. He enjoyed yearly trips to Alaska and made friends wherever he went. In addition to family and friends, he also found great joy in shopping with coupons and his daily date with Betty and Judge Judy. Mr. Lamb was a member of the Maine Farm Bureau, Maine Farm Days and a former member of Winslow Lions Club. Survivors include three daughters, Alice McPhee and her husband, Jim, of Fayetteville, N.J., Mary Sanstrom of Bangor, and Elizabeth Shannon and her husband, Scott, of Dover, Mass.; three sons, Charles W. Lamb and his wife, Rachel, of Palmer, Alaska, Linus Sanstrom and his wife, Karen, of Hebron, Conn., and John Sanstrom of Newington, Conn.; one sister, Sandra Richo and her husband, Bernie, of North Haven, Conn.; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and very close friends, Lou and Betty Robichaud of Palermo. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering which will be held 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Road, Route 32, Windsor.
