ORRINGTON and BANGOR – Lillian M. Allen, 78, died Nov. 7, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Bangor, daughter of Alva and Gladys (Brown) McKenzie. Lillian loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and especially the time spent at their camp on Jacob Buck Pond. She enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking for her family. Lillian is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul Allen of Orrington; five sons, Michael, Dennis, Wayne and Timothy, all of Orrington, and Paul of Verona; two daughters, Beth Allen of Orrington and Neva Leet or Orland; her five sisters and brothers, Muriel Fortier, Jean True and Phyllis Young, all of Bangor, William McKenzie of Brewer and Donald McKenzie of Bangor; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two granddaughters, Amanda and April. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Brewer.
