BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Esther V. Bartman, 89, died Nov. 23, 2010, in Spring Hill, Fla. She was the daughter of James R. and Florice Brooks of Cherryfield. Esther and her late husband, Ralph G. Bartman, lived for many years in East Haddam, Conn., where she worked at Wesleyan University in administration. Upon retirement Esther and her husband moved to Brooksville, Fla. In addition to her late husband; five brothers, Earl, Ray, Jim, Ken and Alvah Brooks; and four sisters, Dorothy Farnsworth, Bertha Strout, Mildred Calhoun and Jessie Torrey predeceased her. She is survived by one brother, Philip Brooks; one sister and husband, Janice and Vergil MacLean; one sister-in-law, Karen Brooks; one brother-in-law and wife, John and Betty Bartman; many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be announced at a later date.
