WINTERPORT – Lucille (Fuller) Alexander, 82, passed away peacefully May 20, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor health care facility. Lucille was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Fort Fairfield, to Cecil and Verna (Wallace) Fuller.
Lucille grew up and attended schools in Easton before attending Husson College, Bangor. Lucille worked for more than 15 years as a cook for SAD 22. She enjoyed doing crosswords, the Jumble, embroidery, walking and traveling, particularly to Camden and Bar Harbor. In earlier years Lucille and Joseph took several road trips all over the country. Lucille will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Lucille is survived by her loving children, Richard F. Alexander of Bangor, Donald J. Alexander and wife, Kathleen, of Racine, Wis., Diana L. Webster and husband, Warner, of Shakopee, Minn., Joseph C. Alexander Jr., of Winterport and Sharon L. Alexander of Natick, Mass.; grandchildren, Joseph Alexander III, George Webster, Robert Alexander and wife, Kaori, and Carol Alexander; a great-granddaughter, Victoria Alexander; a brother, Dale Fuller and wife, Rosetta, of Conroe, Texas; sisters, Irene King and husband, Richard, of Presque Isle and Carolyn McGrath of Winslow; as well as several nieces and nephews. Lucille was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband of 50 years, Joseph Charles Alexander; and a brother, Cecil “Wayne” Fuller.
Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, with the Rev. Dick Woehr officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lucille’s honor may be made to the YWCA, 93 Second St., Bangor, ME 04401.
