FORT KENT and EAGLE LAKE – Patrick “Pat” Bouchard, 88, formerly of CrossWinds, previously of Old Main Street, Eagle Lake, died Oct. 25, 2011. He was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Millinocket.
Pat graduated from school in Winterville. He lumbered in Eagle Lake and farmed in Winterville until he joined the Navy in 1945, as a member of the 13th Special Naval Construction Battalion; he was actively serving overseas during World War II as part of the Pacific Campaign. Upon his return he married his loving wife, Delvina (Bernier) Bouchard, in 1948. They moved their family to Southington, Conn., and remained for almost 40 years. During that time period Mr. Bouchard worked at TRW – Marlin Rockwell – Bearing Manufacturing, Plainville, Conn., for 38 years retiring in 1985. They enjoyed traveling back and forth from Maine to Florida for many years before settling in Eagle Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, loved playing cards, and was an avid lifelong Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his four children, Barbara Marcoux and husband, Kenneth, of Conway, S.C., Gary Bouchard and his wife, Mary, of Duxbury, Mass., Gail and her partner, Paul Mastroianni, of East Lyme, Conn., and Cherrie Porter and her husband, David, of Southington, Conn.; and six grandchildren, Renee and Alyssa Marcoux, Kelly and Peter Bouchard, Lauren Weindruch and Nicholas Porter. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Delvina (Bernier) Bouchard, Sept. 24, 2011; also by his five brothers and five sisters, Frena Roy of Millinocket, Rex Bouchard of Winterville, Lillian Prault and Hector Bouchard, both of Eagle Lake, Hampy Bouchard and Rose Pelletier, both of Southington, Conn., Alice Long of Plainville, Conn., Jimmy Bouchard, Bill Bouchard and Mary Cormier of Florida.
Relatives and friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, and 11-11:30 a.m. Friday at Daigle Funeral Home, 14 East Main St., Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated noon Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Committal services with full military honors will be afterward at the parish cemetery.
