BANGOR, Maine — A theft at a Bangor Mall department store led to the arrest of a woman and a man Saturday, according to police.
Officer Kevin Haefele was dispatched to Sears on Saturday afternoon for a report of a shoplifting incident, police Sgt. Paul Edwards said. When Haefele arrived, he was told that a man and woman had been shoplifting together there. The man took off into the parking lot and left in a car driven by another man. The driver of the car reportedly made statements threatening revenge against two loss prevention officers who followed the male suspect out.
Edwards said Ernestine Chubbock, 44, a Bangor transient, was arrested and charged with Class C felony theft. The stolen merchandise was recovered, he said.
On Saturday evening, Penobscot County sheriff’s deputies located and arrested Bradford Francis, 25, of Orrington, who was identified as the driver who threatened the loss prevention officers earlier, according to Edwards. Francis was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, charged with a probation violation and two counts of misdemeanor criminal threatening.
Both suspects remained at the county jail on Monday. If convicted of the theft charge, Chubbock faces up to five years in prison.

Pretty good for her, going just under 4 months before getting her name in the paper yet again. It would appear as though her “learning curve” is nothing more than a flat line.

She made it a month longer than he did:

On 10/28/2011 he was sentenced to 1 year in jail with all but 90 days suspended. How could he be on the streets 78 days after his sentencing? He should be in jail for the rest of the year now but we will probably see his name in the paper again before 2013.
Sentence shortened for good behavior while he was in the can…
yeah I hear you, but no matter how good he behaved, he should have spent every minute of the 90 days in jail since the judge suspended 275 days of sentence. His thinking was: “The better I behave, the quicker I get back to shooting drugs”
Ok, what about ” The man took off into the parking lot and left in a car driven by another man” ?
Did they catch him,too?
I suspect it was Chubbock that ran into the parking lot and the car was driven by Francis. I read it the same way but with how things are written in BDN…who knows?
Someone posted last week that the mugshots of accused females perpetrators in the BDN all look the same. I agree. Does the chronic use of illegal drugs and abuse of alcohol start to make people look alike?
This one wasn’t grinning from ear to ear.
No but the eyes all look the same. Plus the tired haggard look. I read right after Christmas nobody shopped much at Sears anymore, apparently they still steal from there though!
The lack of hygiene is one common factor.
I think she will need a good lawyer to help her out of this one. Too bad that this had to happen again to her. Thankfully for Sears the merchandise was recovered.
“had to happen again to her…?”. Can you explain that statement a little Mr. Foote, ESQ?
Do you mean “too bad she got caught again and again and again?” Yeah it’s a crying shame alright…jeesh.
Do you really think it is ethical to try to acquire clients through the BDN comments section?
Besides, I don’t think she has access to this site while in jail.
What % of lawyers do you think have an “ethical compass”. I know over a hundred and my experience is 1. 1 our of 100+.
chubbock. There’s another story her with chubbock mentioned, is the fruit not falling far from the tree? Or just a coincedence?
…
Wonder what they do for work, insurance, etc. I wonder……………….
she is a “transient”….perhaps they did this for “3 hots & a cot”
I like the part “a Bangor” transient. She doesn’t transate (to use BDN style) very far, does she?
Well at least the BDN is keeping up with her. I wonder how so and so is doing with his sentencing that was to happen back in Nov/Dec for stealing thousands of pills through the mail system??
Bob Vila is shaking his head somewhere.
This is where Bath salts lead you…
