BANGOR – Gladys A. Bowden, 80, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, with her grandson, Ted, holding her hand, at a local health care facility. She was born June 15, 1931, in Bangor, daughter of Robert and Elsie (Parks) Gibbons.
Gladys enjoyed cooking, swimming in her pool and going to yard sales, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apples of her eye.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Corson of Brewer, and Kim Andrews and her husband, Dean, of Levant; one son, Robert Crooker of Connecticut; four grandchildren, Joshua and Ashley Andrews of Levant, Ted Randall and his wife, Mary, of Bangor, and Pam Roach and her husband, Pete, of Brewer; three special great-grandchildren, Alexis, Cody and Carson, that kept her young at heart; brother, Robert Gibbons Jr. of Colorado; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Ernest.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held noon Thursday, Feb. 9, with the Rev.
