CARIBOU – Jeannette Marie (Corbin) Gagnon, 82, died Feb. 21, 2012. She was born March 4, 1929, in Fort Kent, daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Saucier) Corbin.

Mrs. Gagnon attended Fort Kent schools and was a lifelong member of Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Her lifelong job was taking care of people from an early age, from helping her mom and dad with her siblings to becoming a wife and mother. Jeannette was a very special person who everybody loved, whether you had known her for years or just met her for the first time. She had an impact on you that you couldn’t help but love to admire. She married her teenage sweetheart, Dennis Gagnon Jr., June 30, 1947. They were married for more than 63 years; he was the love of her life who she adored.

Jeannette is survived by her four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Darrell Gagnon of Dover, Fla., Cynthia and Russell Wilcox of Caribou, Denise and Patrick McCormack of Woodland, and Janet and Joseph Pignatiello of Wade; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Iris Gagnon of Benton, wife of Frank; three sisters, Kay Clark of Tennessee, Renamay Edmonds of Connecticut and Marilyn Smith of Texas; one brother, Steven Corbin of Florida; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gagnon was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Gagnon Jr., April 28, 2011; and two sons, Dale D. Gagnon Sr., Feb. 18, 2006, and Frank D. Gagnon Sr., April 27, 2007.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial. Spring interment will take place at New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
