BANGOR – Ethel L. Potter Turner, 90, passed away April 21, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Hermon, the daughter of William L. and Laura M. Helms Potter.
Ethel was longtime member of Glad Tidings Church. She was a stay-at-home mother and enjoyed baking for her family and friends.
Ethel is survived by her two daughters, Edith Curry and Jean Turner of Bangor; grandchildren, Scott Curry and wife, Sarah, and John Curry of Bangor, Laurie Ouellette and husband, Joe, of LaGrange and Tracey Clement and husband, Frank, of Orono; great-grandchildren, Lindsay Ouellette and her companion, Curtis, Josh Ouellette, Zach, Mike, Ryan and Amy Curry, and Collin and Hannah Clement; brothers, George Potter and wife, Elaine, of North Carolina and Eugene Potter and wife, Lorraine, of Tennessee; nephews, Ed Potter and wife, Barbie, and Stan Hanscom and wife, Sherry; and longtime friend, Wanda Fish Piper of Canada. Ethel was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Ralph F. Turner; her brothers, Ralph Helms, and Bill and Frank Potter; sisters, Bertha, Myrtle and Ruth; and special son-in-law, Dale Curry. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Friends are invited to call 1 p.m. until the time of service. After the service the family invites guests to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
