DOVER-FOXCROFT – On Aug. 22, 2012, James Edward Hayslip Sr. joined his loving wife, Barbara Elsie Hayslip; his daughter, Mary Elsie McCue; his brother, Richard T. Hayslip; and his parents in eternal rest.
Jim, as he preferred to be called, was the oldest of the Hayslip boys and left home in Missouri to enlist in the U.S. Army, where he would meet his bride. Jim led a full and happy life with Barbara as they moved throughout New England until settling down in Maine a short time after his retirement from Rockville General Hospital.
During their years together the Hayslip family grew and as Jim is laid to rest he is survived by four children: two daughters, Shirley Louise Harrison and Susan Ann King and husband, Robert, and two sons, James Edward Hayslip Jr. and Mervin Allen Hayslip and wife, Kathryn. Jim was also blessed with 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; his sister, LaVera Gann; and four brothers, Lloyd Hayslip Jr. and wife, Judy, Raymond Hayslip and wife, Pat, Ron Hayslip and wife, Patsy, and John Hayslip and wife, Sue.
Please join Jim’s family and friends to celebrate his life 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev.
