CORINTH – Winona C. “Nonie” Ugone passed away Aug. 12, 2012, in Naples, Fla., with Tony, Lisa, Roberta, and her husband James at her bedside, after Roger, Shelley, Sherry, Mickey and Hildred were vigilant until Aug. 11.
Nonie is survived by her husband of 55 years, James; her son, Anthony Ugone and Tracy and their daughter, Sidney and son, James; a daughter, Lisa Quinlan and James and their daughters, Andria and Erin; her brothers, Alton R. Chesley and Hildred and family and Roger Chesley and Jean and family; and a niece, Roberta Kane and Scott and family. She was predeceased by her parents, Alton S. and Margaret Chesley; and her sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Floyd Wiggin.
Nonie will be missed by many, for she was a caring and loving wife and mother, and a doting grandmother, as well as a dear friend. She was a gentle lady who touched our hearts and her sense of humor was contagious. We will remember her infectious laughter, her larger than life personality, and most of all, her graciousness. Camping U.S.A., two weeks at Sebago Lake, Disney World, musical theater, Broadway shows, concerts – Sinatra, Bennett, Diamond – Montreal Jazz festivals, football-baseball weekends, and tailgating are our treasure; however, Nonie’s jewel was summer at Sebec Lake. Good food – pasta, home fries, red hot dogs – drinks, laughter, games, eternal canasta and pinochle card games, made our lives full. These were the best of times. Nonie also liked some quiet times where she could just “be,” do some reading, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, and pray. Peace sweetheart. Catch you later!
A celebration of Nonie’s life will take place 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, where visiting hours will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Interment will be at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. The family invites relatives and friends to a time of fellowship and refreshment at Corinth United Methodist Church Annex after the burial.
